INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – The 2025 edition of the Senior Masters is back at Indian Wells Golf Resort on the Celebrity Course. Players were greeted with perfect weather on Tuesday morning and scoring conditions were optimal. In the afternoon, temps climbed to 94 degrees in the desert.
John Bearrie, of Hollsopple, PA, leads the Senior division after a sizzling round of 7-under 65. The Sunnehanna member got hot on the back nine as the temperature was rising. Bearrie went out in 34 (-2), and then went birdie-eagle-birdie on holes 11 through 13 and added another birdie on 15 to come back in 31 (-5). Trae Cassell, of Rancho Sante Fe, CA, and 2021 champion John Derrick, of Waco, TX, are tied for second place after each shooting rounds of 4-under 68.
In the Super Senior division, we have a bunched up leaderboard with three players tied for the lead at 2-under. 2022 champion Jerry Rose, of American Fork, UT is at the top along with Larry Nunez, of Plano, TX, and Dub Huckabee, of Midland, TX. Another trio of players sits just a stroke back, including Gary Albrecht, Castle Rock, CO, Mac McGee, of La Quinta, CA, and Bob Cooper, of Monroe, LA.
Peter Van Ingen, of Palm Beach, FL, and Les Devitt, of Scottsdale, AZ, each fired 1-over 73 to lead the Legend division. Larry Daniels, of Bremerton, WA, and Mark Weston, of Windermere, FL, are both one shot back in a tie for third place.
Finally in the Super Legend division, defending champion Gerry Graham, of Mesa, AZ, is tied for the lead with Jack Marin, of Durham, NC, as each posted 1-over 73. George Dillon, of Sun City West, AZ, and Jim Saivar, of San Diego, CA, are just a shot behind in a tie for third place.
