Nelson Battles, Hall leads Super Seniors at British Senior Amateur
WALTON HEATH, England – Society members continue to show out across the pond at the British Senior Amateur at Walton Health. Danny Nelson, of Savannah, GA, battled on Thursday and closed with a turkey of three birdies in-a-row to shoot even-par 72 and remain at four-under for the championship in a tie for 4th place.
Brad Steven, of Concord Township, OH, is now two-under through three rounds, tied for 9th place, as he posted a strong four-under round of 68 on Thursday. Just a stroke behind him in a tie for 14th are Bryan Hoops, of Tempe, AZ, as well as Jack Hall, of Savannah, GA. Hall, 68, also leads the 65 & over division.
John Kennedy, of England, continues to lead the championship and is now at 12-under, seven shots clear of second. The round of the day belonged to American Brendan Hester, who fired a sizzling eight-under 64 to move into a tie for second place at five-under. Defending champion Todd White carded a four-under 68 to stay within striking distance at four-under overall.
Thursday’s third round also had a secondary cut at +4. Members advancing to the final round include:
