RESULTS: 2025 Canadian Men’s Senior Championship

NEW MINAS, NS.Although leader Don Martone, of Ontario, has separated from the pack to lead by six strokes headed into the final round, Society of Seniors members are still competing and trying to track him down.  Martone sets the pace at 8-under for the championship, while Dwight Reinhart, of Ontario, is in second at 2-under par.

Society members then occupy the next six positions at KenWo Golf Club in Nova Scotia.  In a tie for third place at (+1) are Todd Doss and Jack Hall.

Doss made a remarkable ace on the par-4 No. 3, which was moved up a tee box and played to about 308 yards, slightly downhill.  The double-eagle catapulted Doss to 3-under on his round, and after a birdie on No. 4, he found himself in second place before the leaders even started their rounds.

Doss would go on to birdie No. 13 to continue his ascent, but bogeys on 16 and 17 put a bit of a damper on an otherwise phenomenal day.  He would finish with 3-under 67.

Jack Hall fired an under-par round of his own with a 2-under 68.  In his 2024 title defense, he leads the Super Senior division by five strokes headed into the final round on Friday.

Just two more strokes behind Doss and Hall at (+3) and tied for fifth is the foursome of Rusty Strawn (2022 champion), of Eatonton, GA, Gene Elliott (2019 champion), of Norwalk, IA, Bryan Hoops, of Tempe, AZ, and Carlos Aranda, of Springfield, VA.  Strawn, Elliott and Hoops each carded (+1) 71s on Thursday, while Aranda posted (+4) 74.
