EVENT PORTAL: 71st U.S. Senior Amateur Championship
LUTHERVILLE, Md. – Baltimore Country Club’s East Course provided a stern test for the world’s top senior amateur golfers during the first two days of stroke play qualifying at the 71st U.S. Senior Amateur Championship. Society member Trae Cassell (Rancho Santa Fe, CA) rose to the top as he built momentum after a first round of 68 (-2) and posted 67 (-3) in round two to grab medalist honors by seven shots at 5-under par 135.
Among those securing their reservations in the match play bracket, which gets underway on Monday at 8:30 a.m. include:
Miles McConnell, Tony Wise, David Vaclav, Matt Sughrue, Arnold Cutrell, Randy Haag, Steve Harwell, Danny Nelson, Brian Quackenbush, Rick Stimmel, Carson Pilcher, Brendan Hester, Bryan Hoops, Kevin VandenBerg, Buzz Fly, John Brellenthin, and Howard Clendenin.
There will be a 13-for-3 playoff to determine the final spots in match play that will commence at 7:30 a.m. on Monday. Included in the playoff will be members Rick Cloninger, Todd Doss, 2025 Runner-Up Greg Sanders, Michael Anderson, 2025 defending champion Michael McCoy, and Ed Kerr.
