Doug Hanzel, Savannah, GA, won the Super Senior division at the 2026 Sunnehanna Senior Amateur and tied for fourth overall.
FULL RESULTS: 2026 SUNNEHANNA SENIOR AMATEUR
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – Congratulations to Miles McConnell (Tampa, FL) on winning the 2026 Sunnehanna Senior Amateur Championship held at Sunnehanna Country Club. McConnell posted rounds of 64-72 for a 4-under par total of 136 to win by four strokes over Jason Pridmore and Robert Gerwin. On Tuesday, McConnel tied the lowest round in championship history (-6, 64) previously fired by Sean Knapp (Oakmont, PA).
In the Super Senior division, amateur golf legend Doug Hanzel (Savannah, GA) won by four strokes after solid rounds of 71-70 for a one-over total of 141 while also finishing tied for fourth overall.
Tournament chairman John Bearrie (Johnstown, PA) put together another very strong field that featured many of the top players in all of senior amateur golf.
In his title defense, Tony Wise (Georgetown, KY), finished in a respectable tie for 10th at 143.
Weather unfortunately interrupted the majority of round one on Monday, as it was completed on Tuesday and the 54-hole event was shortened to 36-holes due to Mother Nature.
